Country Heritage is located in North Central Iowa. The innkeeper (Lacey)
is the fifth generation to live on the farm. Her great great grandfather
and great grandfather built this beautiful farmstead in 1921. Over the
years many Borcherdings have enjoyed the sights and sounds of rural life
as well as the trials and tribulations. Lacey's Grandfather was born in
this Victorian style home and a few months ago he spent his last day
enjoying one more time before he was called home. There are 4.5 acres to
stroll and listen to the birds, sit in the gazebo, or at night sit in
front of the firepit. The kids enjoy catching fireflies or checking out
the Rooster and hens in the back shed. You never know for sure what you
might find in the pasture. This spring it was home to Rascal and Redneck
(calves).
Depending on the time of year our guest can ride in the combine during the
fall, check out the baby lambs in January and February, the baby calves in
March, April and May. Our dog Allie (black lab) will sure to greet you and
play catch. As well as all of these things to do on the farm we are close
to some great hunting, fishing, golfing, paddle boats, walking trails and
we just found out that the railroad has given Franklin County the
abandoned railroad which is located a half a mile from our country setting
and so in the future we will have a bike trail right outside our door. We
plan to have bikes available for anyone who would like to ride the trail.
